In 2025, Lounsbury & Associates had the privilege of hosting a high school intern through the Anchorage School District’s Career and Technical Education (CTE) program. The experience was incredibly rewarding for both our staff and the student, providing hands-on exposure to the civil engineering profession and opportunities to participate in real-world projects.
During her time with us, our intern contributed to several municipal and state transportation projects, assisting with plan reviews, field observations, and drafting tasks under staff supervision. Her enthusiasm, curiosity, and eagerness to learn left a strong impression on our team. Beyond technical experience, the internship allowed us to mentor a future engineer and help strengthen Alaska’s local talent pipeline. We’re proud to share that she is now pursuing an engineering degree at the University of Alaska Fairbanks, and we hope to see her back at Lounsbury someday.
We value our partnership with ASD’s CTE program and remain committed to supporting opportunities that inspire and prepare the next generation of Alaska’s engineers and design professionals.
