First Robotics is seeking volunteer judges for the FTC League Tournament on Saturday December 9, 2023 from 8:00AM – 4:00PM. There are a variety of volunteer positions available still including event logistics, team support, and judging. If you are interested and available to volunteer, please click on the following link: https://www.firstinspires.org/ways-to-help/volunteer/event-volunteers.
About FIRST Robotics:
The FIRST program is a remarkable robotics program for elementary through high school students. It brings together talented young minds who form teams to design, build, and compete with their own robots. This event is not just about robotics; it’s a platform for fostering teamwork, community engagement, and a passion for learning. In addition to the competition, teams participate in community service initiatives, teach younger kids about robotics, and develop essential coding skills.
Why Volunteer?
Volunteering at the FTC League Championship provides a unique opportunity to contribute to the growth and development of these aspiring engineers, programmers, and community leaders. Your involvement will make a significant impact on the success of the event, and you’ll have the chance to witness firsthand the creativity and innovation of the next generation. Don’t worry at all if you have no experience in robotics or coding, or even anything technical at all – our program is so much more than that and we need your unique perspective!
Details of Volunteering:
Event Date: Saturday Dec. 9, 2023
Location: West High School – 1700 Hillcrest Dr, Anchorage, AK 99517
Time: 8.00 am to 4.00 pm
Roles: Various roles are available, including event logistics, team support, and Judging. Judging is our most needed role at this time (and does include a short 30-45 min training on Thursday evening at 7.30 pm on Zoom). We need 10 Judges to be successful and currently have only 5. If you can spare a Saturday, please help! If the training time is holding you back, don’t worry about that either – we can do a separate call that fits your schedule.
How You Can Help:
By volunteering your time and expertise now or in the future, you’ll play a crucial role in creating a positive and inspiring atmosphere for the participants. Whether you have a background in robotics or simply a passion for supporting youth development, there’s a role for everyone at the FIRST Robotics.
