RESPEC Acquires Haight & Associates, Inc.

Haight & Associates, Inc. an electrical engineering company in Juneau, became part of RESPEC as of November 1, 2021. The acquisition reflects RESPOEC’s ongoing commitment to serving Alaska’s public & Private sectors and expanding its infrastructure services. This partnership enables RESPEC to offer a complete set of engineering disciplines form locals to Southeast Alaska.

AHSRAE – Young Engineer Bootcamp, Session 2

The second session in the ASHRAE Young Engineer Bootcamp series is now available for watching, on-demand. This second session, presented by Tracy McKeon, PE with CRW Engineering Group, LLC focuses on “Ethics in Engineering.”

This series by ASHRAE has found success among the Engineering disciplines, but the content included also appeals to a broader range of audience members, and is a great listen for any emerging professional in the Engineering/Design, or Built Environment Industry. Public Comment Period Opens IBC 2021 Proposed Changes

The Alaska Department of Public Safety, Division of Fire and Life Safety has proposed changes / alterations to the life & safety regulations within the 2021 International Building Code (IBC). The public comment period is now open, and will close on December 13, 2021.

ASHRAE Hosts ‘Young Engineer Bootcamp’

This fall, ASHRAE launched a “Young Engineer Bootcamp” series with monthly training seminars presented by leaders amongst the organization. The series seeks to share soft-skill mentorship, guidance, and advice with emerging practitioners. While ASHRAE is focused on Mechanical Engineering, the content of these presentations goes beyond the discipline, and beneficial to all young professionals represented by APDC.

The first two seminars were held in September & mid-October, and the September recording, presented by Craig Fredeen, PE is now available for viewing for those who missed attending, here.

R&M Welcomes Clark Rosencrans

R&M Is pleased to welcome Clark Rosencrans as Group Manager of Special Inspections. Rosencrans formerly worked for R&M from 2012 – 2016, and has over 16 yars of experience in constrution, materials testing and special inspections. In his new position as Group Manager, Rosencrans will be responsible for managing R&M’s Special Inspections Group, including on-site supervision of special inspectors.
