Alaska is going through the required five year update for the Statewide Outdoor Recreation Plan (SCORP). This plan is required for the state to receive Land and Water Conservation Funding. The plan will outline overarching state goals for recreation and more specific priorities for regions throughout Alaska. A draft plan is being finalized for public comment and has been created through regional grassroots efforts to engage individuals, organizations, businesses, government agencies and tribal entities. The public comment period is upcoming October 23-November 23. For more information on the plan, process and opportunities for participation and comment, visit https://www.alaskascorp.org/.
