Culturally-Inspired Art Interpreted Through Intersection Design

Juneau_Intersection

Michele Elfers, ASLA, and Chief Landscape Architect for the City & Borough of Juneau worked with local artists and design firms (including APDC sustaining member Dowl), to integrate design features into the intersection paving patterns and interpretive sidewalk inlays as part of a Downtown Street Reconstruction Project. The result is an striking, artistic approach to a functional traffic intersection.
